Peanut Butter and Jelly Experiment

How do you dress up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?

We eat a lot of PB&J sandwiches. We decided to find out if we could make a better sandwich. There were a lot of things that we could change. We decided use the same bread for all the sandwiches. For the most part we used smooth peanut butter. We used crunchy on one and straight up peanuts on another.

We decided to take some liberties with ‘jelly’. Since jelly is usually some fruit and sugar, we used different combinations of fruit and sugar substitutions for the jelly.

“Jellies”

Cherry Bomb – Peanut butter with a cherry and jalapeno jelly. Tasted like orange chicken. Two of us thought this tasted pretty good.

Fluff ‘a’ Nutter – Peanut butter bananas and marshmallow cream. We all liked this sandwich.

Deconstructed – Peanuts and butter with blueberries and a cinnamon and sugar sprinkle. All the stuff fell out of this sandwich. The flavors are better when the stuff is mixed up.

Thai PB&J – Crunchy peanut butter with mandarin oranges, cilantro, and a vinegar sugar drizzle. Three of us thought this sandwich was gross. Ashley liked it and Dad liked it.
