There is nothing better than freshly made spaghetti sauce. While ours is more like a marinara sauce, we use it with spaghetti, meatballs, meat ball sandwiches, and pizza. It is easy to make and goes well with a lot of recipes that call for a tomato sauce.

Making
Here is a link to my spaghetti sauce video: https://youtu.be/3BzHtfGRXCc
Ingredients
- 2 cans (28 oz) of whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) of tomato paste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried onion
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Dump the cans of tomatoes (liquid too) into a big pot.
- Mash or blend the tomatoes so the sauce is as thick or smooth as you like.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, except salt, and mix together.
- Place the pot on the stove and bring to a boil.
- Once the sauce is boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 30-60 minutes.
- Stir occasionally to make sure the bottom isn’t burning.
- When the sauce is done simmering, you can use immediately or refrigerate to later use.
Trying
A fresh spaghetti sauce tastes way better than the canned stuff you buy at the store. It tastes even better if you use fresh herbs. Give it a try.
